Keeping Ibs To A Minimum

Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS, has got to be one of the worst problems one can experience. Not that it is super overly painful or anything, but it is completely annoying and even debilitating.
Doctors really don’t know 100 percent for sure what causes irritable bowel syndrome but there are several obvious reasons why it can flare up and get worse. But it does take you using your own common sense as well to keep the IBS to a minimum when possible.
Either way, there are several things you can do in order to help reduce your symptoms and discomfort from IBS.
Reduce Your Caffeine Intake
We all like out morning coffee. In fact, it is one of those things that we Americans just can’t live without, but if you have irritable bowel problems, you need to learn to reduce or eliminate it. One thing you may try is to cut back and use the 50% blended coffees they have available these days. It is also a good idea to cut down on soda during the day as the combination of caffeine and combination can reek havoc on your bowels all day long.
Lose Weight, Exercise
I know that people will tell you that getting in shape and exercising will cure just about anything, and they are right. In fact, exercise has a lot of good effects on irritable bowel and its symptoms. Losing weight will keep your insides in good working order, but exercise also reduces stress which is a known cause of flare ups.
Eat Better and Eat Right
Once again, this one seems cliche, but it is true. Your doctor can tell you what foods to avoid, but you should also use your common sense when it comes to avoiding things that will make your IBS symptoms worse.
These are just a few simple tips to help you overcome your irritable bowel problems. The key is to be smart about the changes you make and stick with what works for you.
